The 2025 Green Builder® annual award season begins
Green Builder® Media is North America’s leading green building and sustainable living media source. Established in 2006, Green Builder® focuses primarily on the U.S. construction industry, providing actionable ideas on how builders and homeowners can construct and remodel more sustainable homes. Popular topics center around net-zero building, energy efficiency, and building science.
Each year, Green Builder® selects 50 products from energy management, indoor air quality (IAQ), insulation, siding, and more to spotlight products that are more resilient or more resource efficient in the manufacturing process, rewarding manufacturers that encourage sustainability through innovative technology.

For returnees on the Green Builder® Sustainable Products of the Year list, reappearing on the roster of green products reinforces company commitments to environmentally friendly actions.
In addition to reappearing on the Sustainable Products of the Year list this year, James Hardie was named the “Greenest Siding Brand” in the Green Builder® annual Readers’ Choice survey for 2020, and was also recognized as one of the Green Builder® Eco Leaders for 2024. The Eco Leader award highlighted James Hardie’s commitment to transparency, especially through our Environmental Product Declarations (EDPs), with the goal of better understanding the full impact of our products on the environment, to identify opportunities to drive progress toward meeting our ambitious sustainability goals.
Hardie® Artisan® Trim recognized for long-lasting performance and resiliency
Hardie® Artisan® Trim was designed to complement the elegant lines of Hardie® Artisan® Siding, from Lap to V-Groove, to create a distinctive look on any home. The precise fit allows for the freedom to miter corners and enables a blind nail application, providing a seamless and sophisticated finish without compromising on durability.
But in addition to wanting a beautiful home, homeowners are increasingly aware of the need to protect that home as more extreme climate events continue to damage homes across the country.
A home’s exterior is its first line of defense in any conditions. Hardie® fiber cement products, including Hardie® Artisan® Trim, are built to stand up to harsh weather conditions and help resist damage from fires, floods, and other natural disasters. Hardie® Artisan® Siding and Trim are noncombustible, won’t burn* and are:
- Crafted to have no pest appeal and will not be eaten by termites
- Engineered to resist water and humidity, including rain and snow
- Will not ignite when exposed to a direct flame nor contribute fuel to a fire
- Designed to withstand extremes, like hurricanes, strong winds, and UV rays
Additionally, the Hardie™ Zone System provides siding formulated for optimal performance based on the climate where the product is being used. Only Hardie® fiber cement exterior products, including Hardie® Artisan® Trim, are Engineered for Climate®.
But durability and resilience aren’t the only reasons Green Builder® recognized Hardie® Artisan® Trim as one of their Sustainable Products of the Year. Hardie® siding and trim products, including Hardie® Artisan® Trim, are low maintenance so homeowners can spend more time enjoying their home, while having the peace of mind that what they’ve built will endure. This means less day-to-day care, while also promising a lifetime of value.
